Start your Custom Combo [Variation Combo] as your opponent attacks, doing fierce [HP] Jigoku Scrapes. With a half-full custom [variation] meter, you can pull off 2 Jigoku Scrapes (this is 4 hits)..then do a jab [LP] Jigoku Scrape, followed by your 360 throw [Butsumetsu Buster]. Big damage.

The best part is that if they manage to block your custom [VC], the throw [Butsumetsu Buster] at least does good damage.

Sodom is 100% offense. If the other guy is pressuring you too much, try and get in a "fake" chain of jabs and shorts to push the other guy away. Finish with a LP or MP Jigoku Scrape to put yourself back on offense.

If your Jigoku Scrapes are being countered/snuffed a lot (most likely by characters like Adon or Rose)... well, uh... stop doing them (possibly see below tactic). But if you just HAVE to Jigoku Scrape, then try and hit the character's limbs rather than the actual character. You can be severely punished for doing this, but it works... sometimes.

In a serious game, this is a really stupid tactic: If the other player is trying to charge up from a distance using repeated attacks of the some type, you can probably hit him with a Jigoku Scrape. But that's weak, and it can be easily countered by some characters. Instead, approach slightly and time a Daikyo Burning to snatch them at their point of vulnerability. You can also look for a missed sweep or anticipate foot games and do the Daikyo Burning. Obviously you can't really use these tactics b/c if the other player happens to block your DB... so long, Sodom. Still, these things work often on large characters and people who recklessly stick out ground attacks.

A cool tactic for Sodom - do a jab jitte rush [LP Jigoku Scrape], then a super jitte rush [Souvenir from Hades] (preferably level 2). Usually the opponent will try to sweep you after a jitte rush, but if your timing is perfect, your Super will hit them. If the opponent just sits there, do a hyperbomb [Butsumetsu Buster] to wake them up :) If they jump they'll still get hit :)

Use Variation Mode. Try to keep your opponent in the corner, activate the middle custom [MP+MK Variation Combo] and do jab fireball motion [LP Jigoku Scrape] and jab fireball motion [LP Jigoku Scrape] two to three times and then finish with the 360 degree punch grab [Butsumetsu Buster]. It'll kind of suck your opponent into it. Try it yourself as I can't describe it all in words. Also slide [low HK] often from a distance, very safe and good against Ryu and Ken. If those guys jump in, just do a crouching hard punch. Normally this will trade hits, but your custom [VC] will finish them off. When they're in the air, just look out and sometimes do a middle punch fireball [MP Jigoku Scrape] to chase and juggle them. Also missed grabs [normal throws] are the fastest way to build up the super bar.

With Sodom, don't rush [Jigoku Scrape] from to close. A jab rush [LP Jigoku Scrape] at a good distance is uncounterable. X-ism Sodom can combo his standing and low strong [MP] which has great priority and hits from far away. The slide [crouching HK] goes perfectly under projectiles too. Sodom can pressure you all day without the fear of being countered. From close, he's also a danger because of his low and standing shorts [LKs] that can be comboed into a 360 [Butsumetsu Buster]. He also gained back the Super Rush [Souvenir from Hades] invincibility which he lacked in A2.
